What is Saltwater chlorination ?

The process is simple; ordinary salt is added initially to the pool water obtain a salt level of approximately 5000ppm (sea water is about 35000ppm). This salted water passes through the electrolytic cell and is electrolyzed producing Sodium Hypochlorite (Liquid Chlorine). This disinfects the pool water and converts back to salt by doing so. Salt needs to be replaced only when water is lost through overflowing or filter back-washing. Evaporation of water will only concentrate the salt level and will be diluted again when the pool level is topped up.
